I am Rachel Merrill, born and raised in Iowa, living in Northern NJ the past 29 years. I work in the corporate world M-F and I am a facilitator with Generosity Feeds on the weekends. I have the pleasure of helping the volunteers create meals for those with food insecurities.

The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is:

The best piece of advise I have ever been given is to live each day as it were your last.

What advice would you give a candidate who wants to join our team of superstars?

The advice I would give to someone new joining our team is to watch, listen, learn and be open with your peers. I have gained so much knowledge and wisdom from everyone I have had the pleasure of working with. Simple conversations and sharing what’s on your mind have lead to wonderful friendships!

My favorite word in the English language is:

My favorite word in the English language is “KINDNESS”. It is the simplest thing anyone can do and doesn’t cost a penny. Spread KINDNESS everywhere you go!

What’s the most inspiring part of your job?

The most inspiring part of my job is meeting volunteers and hearing the stories. The stories I hear, make me want to do this more and more!

The most important thing I learned before high school was determination. If you put your mind and effort towards what you want, anything is possible. Where there is a will, there is a way!
